Cooper started clapping on Friday night! We have been trying for months to get her to clap, and to say "more" in sign language, but she just would never bring those little hands together. We've seen her do it playing - transferring toys back and forth and she will clasp her hands together in front of her, so we weren't worried that she couldn't do it, she just hasn't wanted to!
Friday night we had the Erskine's over for dinner. Cooper was in her high chair and Debbie was telling a story. She was talking about showing someone some pictures of Easton, her new grandbaby, and she kind of put her hands together like she was turning pages. When she did that, I saw Cooper copy her out of the corner of my eye! Randy and I interrupted Debbie's story and said, "Cooper's clapping!!" We made a big deal out of it, so she kept doing it. It was so funny - Steve, Debbie, Peter, Micaela, Randy, Kendall and I were all saying "Yay Cooper!" and clapping and she just was grinning at us and clapping. Once she figured it out, she hasn't stopped!
I took this picture after church today. She is still loving crawling in and out of the rocking chair and she was clapping. I love this outfit too - Kathy Peters gave it to her when she was born, but it is 12 months so she is just now fitting into it. Honestly, some of her 12 month stuff is still a little big - she's so tiny! Randy took this video with his phone yesterday before we went to watch the A&M game. You can tell how proud she is of her new trick, though!
