I can't believe it's already August 16th! This month is flying by. We still have several weeks before Kendall starts back to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but as I watch so many families get ready for school to start, we are enjoying the last year that "back to school" isn't a big deal for us! Kendall will start kindergarten next year and I am so not ready for that!
Anyway, we've had a great, pretty low-key August so far. I haven't taken many pictures, but wanted to show a few and share what we've been up to!
I took this picture of Cooper the morning after we got back home from Ft. Worth. We loved our visit, but 8 nights away from home was a long time! These girls loved sleeping in their own beds again and slept pretty late that next morning! Typical breakfast for us is milk and vitamins for both girls, cheerios WITH milk for Cooper, yogurt for Kendall, and cheerios for me. And sometimes some coffee. All of a sudden I'm a coffee drinker...with lots of creamer and sweet n low. :)
I can't even tell you how much I am loving watching these two play together lately. They have just been on such a good streak of getting along and playing together with or without me. Kendall is such a sweet big sister and takes such good care of Cooper, teaching her all kinds of new things, directing their play, reading to her, and being "the mama." And Cooper - she just follows her around, happy to do whatever as long as it's with Kendall!! Makes my heart so happy! I took this picture one day when they were playing "castle" and making their beds in their castle. Such princesses. One night after Randy and I went to a funeral and Michelle stayed with the girls, we came home, grabbed the three of them and went to Dairy Bar for an ice cream/sherbet run. The girls were in their pajamas already. They wanted to sit at their own table.
Our friends Mary, Nathan, Sarah, and Caleb just moved in to a new house at the beginning of the month...and they have a pool now! We have been swimming a bunch. This picture was taken at their house after swimming one day - we had ordered pizza for the kids and this was Cooper's third piece!! Such a good eater. And no - it is not rubbing off on her sister.
Trying to make grocery shopping trips fun, we took the girls' buggy to the store with us one day. I believe this is the trip that took us almost 2 hours. They took turns pushing the cart and putting their special things in it.
One of the teenagers from church, Shelby, had a birthday this month. She is so sweet to both of the girls and they love her a bunch. We made her a little video for her facebook page and I thought it was so funny. These girls are precious!!
Now I feel more caught up! Looking forward to the last half of August - lots of birthdays coming up!
Followed a link over from the Lifeline FB page and added myself as a follower. :)
