Surprise Trip!

We made a quick, last-minute trip to Ft. Worth this past weekend! Every year Brazos Pointe gives Randy the Sunday around our wedding anniversary off, as well as money to go on a get-away for the night. Ours fell last weekend this year, which was the same weekend as both of Randy's grandparent's Christmas celebrations. His Mamaw and Papaw Bradford's was on Saturday and his Grandma Dane's was on Sunday. We don't get to come to those much, because they are always the weekend before we are making a trip to Ft. Worth anyway, but since we had the weekend off this year we decided to combine the two! We didn't tell Randy's parents that we were coming, because we wanted to surprise them at their house at the party on Saturday. 

We drove up Thursday night and stayed at Granny and Papas' house. Friday we met Pops for lunch, then went to Great Granny's house to see her. The girls had fun playing with all their toys there and having a tea party with real apples and oranges. This is them in front of Granny's tree.

Then we went to Mom's school to see her class. The girls love getting to go up to Granny's school, especially when her kids are there. And I love taking them to the school I went to as a child! Check out these polar bears!

Granny has a new loft in her room and they loved playing on that!

Kendall jumped right in there with Mom's class, doing art with them and then lining up with them to go out for dismissal. I can't believe how she just fits right in - she was even taller than some of them! And they are first graders! I am so not ready for her to go to school next year...

Friday night we had dinner with Alden and Granny and Papas. It was good to just relax and hang out! Then on Saturday we packed up and went to Gigi and Peeps' house! When we walked in the house, Valerie was video taping because she was in on the secret. Gigi and Peeps were so surprised and so happy! It was so fun!
Gracie and Evy got a surprise too. Val couldn't tell them ahead of time because she knew they would say something to Gigi and Peeps, so they were super excited too! All the cousins had so much fun playing together. Here they are about to open a present!

Cooper got Minnie Mouse bath toys and Kendall got a Minnie Mouse floor puzzle!

The rest of the surprise was that they were getting the girls for the night because Randy and I had reservations at a hotel in Dallas! We were so pumped to be getting away for a night and Gigi and Peeps were happy to have the girls, so it was a win for everyone! :) Randy and I had a great time. We went to the Galleria and did some shopping (hello H&M, my new favorite store!) and then went to Randy's favorite place to eat, Uncle Julios. It was great! Sunday morning we slept so late and it was nice to just move slow and take our time getting ready.

On our way out of the hotel that morning we saw Santa! We asked him if we could take our picture with him for the girls. They thought that was pretty cool!

 

From there we met Gigi and Peeps and the girls and went to Aunt Brenda's house for Grandma Dane's Christmas! Kendall, Cooper, Gracie, Evy, and Maelie and Lorelai all had on matching dresses, which was super cute! We had to get some pictures!

We even got one with Laine in it! He is Maelie and Lorelai's new brother! So sweet!

They each got to open a present there too! My Little Pony and Elmo coloring books, and Rudolph and Clarice dolls. Such a fun time with family!
We had a great weekend with family and were thankful for a night away for our anniversary! It was a fun surprise and we are looking forward to going back next week!
