This has been a wonderful Saturday! We've had a lot of fun and good time together as a family. I am loving the way November is starting!
We started the morning by going to an event that our local BACH organization put on. BACH is the name of the Early Childhood Intervention program here in Brazoria county. Calli is in their program based on her medical diagnosis and receives speech therapy through them currently, and maybe occupational therapy through them soon. They offer all kinds of great programs for their patients and their families, and today we were able to take advantage of one. It was an art program at the college where they had different arts and crafts stations set up and the kids could rotate through them at their own pace. It was right up our girls' alleys! We had so much fun. We kept calling it "Calli's school" to the girls, so they are big fans of Calli's school now.
They had all kinds of fall and Christmas crafts that the girls came home with. Super fun! Some of their volunteers were walking around taking pictures that they are going to email to us soon, but I was able to get a few myself. It was very low stress, and just a great time for us to have fun as a family! Our little Asian Indian.
Such hams! Posing after the art party.
We came home for lunch, and then Calli went down for her nap and I took Kendall to the cheer clinic at the high school! We signed her up for this several weeks ago and she has been excited about it. Well, we got there today and she got very, very scared and nervous. Didn't want me to leave, got brave at one point and let one of the cheerleaders walk her over to the group, but then immediately started crying and walked back to me. We just sat and watched them for awhile. It was for girls pre-K through sixth grade, so it was a pretty large group. Look at her precious face. It was so hard for me - not knowing how much I should push or let her stay with me. I kept telling her we could go home if she wanted to, but she said she just wanted to watch. We watched for awhile more, but then they broke up into grade level groups, so I walked her over to the kindergarten group so she could join them. She ended up sitting with the group, so Cooper and I backed off a little and watched from a distance. She seemed a little more comfortable, so Coop and I went ahead and made our exit. I was pretty certain I would be getting a call to come pick her up, but I never did!
Learning the cheer, right before I left. I took this picture to show Randy she was with the group and doing ok.
I went and dropped Cooper off back at the house and then went to use a gift card to get my nails done! That was super fun!
When I got home, Calli was still sound asleep. It was time for us to go back up to the school to see Kendall's performance at the end of the clinic, so we had to wake her up, but not before we took her picture sleeping so hard!
We got back to the high school and saw a different girl! She was happy, waving to us, staying with the group! We are just so proud of her. That was a huge deal for her to stay somewhere she had never been, with people she didn't know. And to enjoy it! I was so glad I helped her stay and so glad she ended up loving it.
They did a couple of cheers and then danced. She was so into it and loved it! So proud of that big girl!
Kendall's friends Alivia and Cami were there, too! They had fun playing on the bleachers at the end of the show.
We got home and Calli needed a snack. Love how she's just chilling in her chair!
After we took her pigtails out - her hair stayed in place!
And then, before bed, they had to dance under the lights in the front yard again! We strung these up for the parade last weekend and it's about time to take them down, but the girls are just loving them. We played some music for them and they had fun dancing!
It was a full day, but so fun! I love days where we don't have anything to do but be together as a family and hang out. And we're thankful for fun opportunities to participate in neat activities. Such a great day! Happy November!
