We had a great Easter weekend! Pops and Kiki came down to stay for the weekend and we had a wonderful visit with them. These girls were so excited for them to get here that they were waiting in the front yard for them when the pulled in on Friday afternoon.
The week leading up to Easter, we did lots of egg-speriments. One of them was to soak some eggs in vinegar for 3 days and then watch how they could bounce. The girls loved checking on the eggs throughout the week and then rolling them across the floor and seeing how bouncy they were! So fun!
We also made deviled eggs, but used food coloring the dye the white part of the egg. Cooper and Calli LOVE deviled eggs, so these were gone quickly!
Friday night we went and ate dinner at one of our downtown restaurants. We sat outside, the girls played a little down from us, and it was just such a pretty night to be outside and visit. And the food was great!
Saturday morning was the Lake Jackson kid fish event at Shy Pond, just down from our house, so after meeting Pops and Kiki for breakfast we went there and let the girls fish. They lasted about 6 minutes before they were bored and wanted to go play on the playground. So Kiki took them there and Pops and Dad finished up fishing.
After that, we drove to Alvin and picked strawberries! We hadn't been yet this year, so the girls were ready and filled all three buckets!
After a rest that afternoon, we dyed Easter eggs, and then Pops and Kiki hid a ton of plastic eggs they brought in our backyard. It looked like it might rain Sunday, so we figured it would be good to hunt on Saturday while it was still pretty outside.
We had a quiet dinner at home, all the girls had baths, and then I rolled their hair in sponge rollers for church the next morning. Granny and Papas sent them necklaces to wear on Sunday with their dresses, so we opened those before bed!
Ready for church Sunday morning! Pops and Kiki bought their Easter dresses for them, as well as new sandals and little white sweaters. I love it when they all match and we had so much fun getting all dressed up!
After our wonderful church services, we had lunch at home and the girls got to see what was in their Easter baskets from Mom and Dad.
Pops and Kiki left after lunch, the girls had a rest, and then we had dinner over at the Mitterlings with some Lake Jackson framily. The girls even swam for awhile...crazy!
We had such a fun, busy weekend, and were thankful for the time we spent with everyone. We just love celebrating special days and every day with our sweet girls and love making fun memories!
