We celebrated 2 years with our precious Calli last week! April 8th was the day she became part of our family forever, and we will always celebrate that day and make a big deal of it because she is so important to us! Here she is on April 8th, 2015...
...and on April 8, 2013.
Wow...she has changed so much. She has grown and changed physically a ton, but even bigger have been the changes in her personality. She has learned to trust us, she looks to us to meet her needs, and we are her most favorite people. We love watching her learn new things, we love how her speech is improving, and we're so thankful for the amazing way God has knit her into our family in such a unique way. It has been a crazy ride so far!
To celebrate, we went to eat Chinese food in Angleton with Kathy Pickering and Debbie and Steve Erskine, and then came back to the house and had cupcakes with them and Michelle. Kristin and Kate came over that morning and brought chocolate milk to eat with our cupcakes, and then Mary and Savannah came and had lunch with us. It was a fun day of celebrating Calli and remembering the gift she is to us.
We also gave her one of the gifts we bought her in China. When we were there, we worked hard to find 18 different presents to give her each year on her gotcha day. Last year we gave her a fish purse and this year it was a pretty Chinese comb. She is totally in to fixing our hair and her own hair these days, so it was a great choice for this year. And she loved it!
Happy 2 year Gotcha Day, Calli Faith! We love you and have loved the past two years!
