It's already April 1st! I wanted to wrap up March on the blog with a few extra pictures.
Cooper gave her friend Tristan a Cherry Berry gift card for his birthday, and then one day after school, Tristan and his mom took her with them to spend it and then back to their house for a play date! She was so excited about having her own special play date and they had a lot of fun. I loved this picture of the two of them that Liz sent me - so sweet!
Kendall read her very first chapter book by herself this month! It was a Junie B. Jones book and she has been wanting to read one for a long time. She is working so hard on her reading and we are super proud of her!
Classic Cooper selfie
We missed church two weeks in a row this month! One week, Cooper woke up with a fever on Sunday morning, and then the next week, Kendall woke up with a fever, also on Sunday morning. Both came out of the blue. Kendall ended up having strep, but Cooper never had any other symptoms and her fever went away by the next day. We were all sad to stay home from church those two weeks, so we had church at home. :) Kendall read us a story from the Jesus Storybook Bible (our favorite!), we had a snack, we sang some songs, and I found some Adventures in Odyssey videos online. It was fun! The third Sunday when we were finally able to go back to church, Calli told me she wanted to have church at home!
I may be extra impressed with this because I am SO not great at fixing hair, but Calli has started playing with her own hair (in addition to still playing with all of ours), and she can put in her own ponytail holder! Her ponytail is a pretty messy one, but I just think that is really impressive. :)
Cooper is so ready and excited to start Kindergarten. She has been practicing with some math worksheets we have at home, and a couple weeks ago she did several sheets, stapled them together, and said she wanted to show them to Ms. Woodward, Kendall's Kindergarten teacher. One day when Calli was in speech, Cooper and I popped in her room so she could show her all her work, and she was so sweet to her. She sat down, looked at her work, and talked about it with her class. She pointed out how ready she is for Kindergarten, how good her numbers looked, and made Cooper feel so special. We love that lady and really hope she is Cooper's Kindergarten teacher!
During Texas Public Schools Week, we had Kendall's open house on Monday night, and then Cooper and Calli's on Thursday night. We went to Kendall's, but we had church on Thursday night and couldn't make Cooper and Calli's. I didn't think it was too big of a deal until I picked Cooper up from school Thursday and she was so sad that we wouldn't be coming back for open house that night. The next time she went to school after that, she brought all her work home that would have been displayed for us to see that night and she told me again how sad she was that we missed open house. I felt so terrible. She came home and said she wanted to lay all her work out and have an "open house" for Daddy when he came home. We even set out cookies and punch for him. This was her art gallery of all her school work. :)
We love playing with the Mitterlings some days after school! The kids were proud of their jewelry they made one day.
I found one of my old "Where's Waldo" books in the attic and brought it down for the girls. Cooper is loving it. She got confused at one point and started calling it Waldon. She asks Randy all the time to have a snuggle and find Waldon date. I love it.
