Kendall's Last Week of First Grade

Kendall had a busy last week of school. It was just crazy to us that she had to go to school in June - 2 weeks after Memorial Day! That just shouldn't be allowed. On Monday, the first graders had their awards assembly. Kendall got a REACH award for character, A Honor Roll, the Reading Team award, and she also got an award for having the most AR points in her class! We are super proud of how hard she works. The only award she didn't get was perfect attendance - and we're ok with that. :)

Kendall and Ella. She loves this girl and is sad that she is moving.

On Tuesday, the Watch Dogs performed in the talent show. They dressed up as old ladies and danced to "All the Single Ladies" by Beyoncé. It was so funny and so fun to watch Kendall laugh at her Dad. She's got the best Daddy!

Wednesday the school changed things up a bit this year and called it "Wacky Wednesday." Normally they have Fun in the Sun day, but decided this year to do things differently. The kids rotated through stations like dancing in the cafeteria, popsicles and bounce houses outside, a "tech" area where they could bring their own devices and play, and then after lunch they all loaded up on buses and drove to the intermediate school and watched a movie on their "big screen." Kendall loved it.

Thursday was a half day and the last day of school. For their party, they started by having red carpet awards. Ms. Tiller is so sweet - she gave each child a unique award and then a little present that went with their specific award. She worked so hard on that! Kendall got the Miss Sunshine award and some sunglasses. Love it!
Cooper and Calli joined me for the party and they felt so big getting to be a part and help.

Here she is on the first day of school and the last day of school! She has grown so much this year!

And here she is with Ms. Tiller at Meet the Teacher and on the last day. We are so thankful that God gave Kendall to Ms. Tiller - she has been awesome!

Happy end of first grade, Kendall-bendall! We are so happy to have you home for the summer with us now every day!!
