Kendall's Painting Party

For her 8th birthday, Kendall decided to have a painting party at our house! She had seen friends have their parties at a place where you all go paint the same thing, and she thought that would be fun. Randy said he could totally do that and we could just have it at the house! We planned it for the weekend before her actual birthday and all her grandparents came down for it, as well as Val, Gracie, Evy, and Oliver. We had a great weekend celebrating our soon-to-be 8 year old!
It was fun planning the painting party and Kendall wanted to be involved in all of it. I had some rainbow-themed decorations left over from her 4 year old Rainbow Unicorn birthday, so we used some of those and then made a few more. Kendall and Cooper worked together to make a rainbow chain for the kitchen window and they did a great job! These girls love planning a party - especially when it is for their birthday! I don't know though; Cooper was probably as excited about Kendall's birthday this year as Kendall was. She just loves her big sister so much!
We set the tables up on the back porch because it was such a pretty day and it worked out great. In addition to the 6 in our family, Kendall also invited 6 more friends and 5 were able to come. It was a great number for a party!

Kendall and I looked at a bunch of ideas for what to paint in the weeks leading up to her party and eventually decided on these birds on some limbs. Randy took them step by step through painting it and it was fun to see how everyone's painting turned out!

All the finished products! So fun!
We took breaks throughout the painting process to let it dry a little. One time we came in to eat and then another time we came in to open presents. Kendall requested all her favorite foods for her party: a cookie cake, Bluebell ice cream, Cheetos, marshmallows and chocolate chips, popcorn, Sprite, and water. Love it.

She also spent the week before the party making bracelets for all her friends, sisters, and cousins to give them at the party. At one point we looked outside and she had lined them all up in front of her on the fort and was having them come up to her, pick out a bracelet, and then slide down. And they were all doing it! So funny.
She is moving into her own room, so most of her presents were for her new room. She told us she wanted the theme of her room to be "Pine Cove" so we have a few Pine Cove things and then some owl stuff and camping stuff. It was a great party!
After the party, Cooper wanted to show all her grandparents what she has been learning in dance. We enjoyed a little mini-recital.

Aggie got to meet all her grandparents and spent a lot of time being held. She was pretty worn out at the end of the weekend!
Kendall also had a recital, showing off what she has been learning in piano. We loved having everyone here from Saturday to Sunday and having lots of time to hang out!

It was a great weekend and we loved celebrating our Kendall girl!
