Fun Spring Break!

We had the best Spring Break EVER! Back in December, we celebrated our ten year anniversary, but weren't really able to do anything big. So, we planned a trip for Spring Break, when Kendall was out of school and could go to Ft. Worth and after Cambodia, Servolution and a busy season for Randy at church. Saturday of that week, we drove up to Ft. Worth to drop the girls off, spent the night, and then left Sunday for Arkansas! We stayed FOUR WHOLE NIGHTS - and it was absolutely so wonderful and relaxing. We went to Little Rock for two nights and then to Hot Springs for two nights and we loved both! We did a lot of hiking, some great eating, a little sight-seeing, and a whole lot of relaxing, resting, reflecting on the last ten years and dreaming about the future. It was such a great get-away for Randy and me and we highly recommend taking a trip to Arkansas! It was beautiful.
My pictures are a little out of order (but at least they are finally up!). In Hot Springs, we stayed at a very nice inn called Lookout Point Inn. It was so, so nice! We felt very pampered and we just loved every bit of it. The gardens were beautiful, and there were even hammocks down by the lake that we were able to relax and read in. There was a gourmet breakfast every morning delivered to our room, as well as the Innkeeper's Reception every afternoon with appetizers, desserts, and wine. It was so great! This is the back of the house in the gardens.
The hammock down by the lake, and then looking back up towards the house.

In Little Rock, we were able to ride a fun little trolley to the River Market District one night to eat dinner. Randy loved the trolley, and he loved the fried chicken place we tried - Gus'. So fun!
In Hot Springs, we visited Garvan Gardens, which was like a botanical gardens - but huge! There were all kinds of trails, flowers, waterfalls, streams, and greenery. We were there just a little early for all the blooming, but it was still pretty!
They also had a model train village with three model trains set up! I got a kick out of watching that.

There is also a chapel there at the gardens that is on all kinds of lists of "must sees" in Arkansas. It is truly beautiful. It is made of all glass and wood and it is just gorgeous inside and out. They have weddings in there almost every day of the year.

And peacocks, just walking around! I made this one mad so that it would open up it's feathers. So pretty!
We went to the Bill Clinton library in Little Rock. We really enjoyed it and loved learning all about his life and presidency. Very interesting. We even had lunch in the restaurant there at the library and it's name was 42.

We also climbed Pinnacle Mountain in Little Rock and that was super fun. HARD - but fun. We ate at the best local Mexican restaurant in Little Rock called Local Lime. It was so, so good. If you are ever in Little Rock, you HAVE to go there. In Hot Springs we also tried the hot springs, mineral traditional bath houses. So crazy! But an interesting experience. Public bathing - not our thing. :) On our last day, we went zip lining and hiking and we loved that, too! The trip was a fun balance of restful things, sight-seeing, and adventurous things. :)

While we were there, the girls were having a blast in Ft. Worth! They spent time at all three sets of grandparents' houses and they were totally spoiled. Calli did just fine without us and they all three had a blast. Kiki and Pops took them to Grapevine Mills to the Sea World aquarium there. The girls loved that!

Granny took them to the park one day, and met Grandma, Grandpa and Stacie there.

Calli's baby needed a bath at Granny's one day, and she and Cooper loved watching her dry in the dryer. :)

Colored shaving cream to paint with in the bath! It's a tradition now!
And one more at the park.
They had lots of fun at Gigi and Peeps' too, going to see Peter Pan at Artie's Playhouse, going out to eat, and playing with cousins.

It was great to get away with Randy and then it was great to come home and squeeze our girls. This has been a crazy year and it was much needed to have some time away with just him for awhile. I am so thankful I get to be Randy's wife and the girls' mom. It's the best job in the world!!
