I'm so behind on blogging lately! I've been thinking about it some and trying to decide if it's something I want to continue doing or not. My main purpose for keeping up with the blog is to print it out each year for the girls, so that they can have pictures and read stories someday of what their lives were like growing up. That is very important to me for them to have, but it's also a lot of work to try and keep up with it well. I'm not sure - still thinking on this.
So for now, I'll try and get back up to date. March 2nd was our 6th annual Servolution at Brazos Pointe. This is the one Sunday each year where we suspend regular services and everyone goes out into our communities and serves. We do projects for our cities, our schools, our local ministry partners, and individuals. Most people serve with their small groups, but if someone is not in a small group, they can sign up for a project on the Sundays leading up to Servolution. This year I think we had over 1000 people out in our community. It's a great way for us to put hands and feet to our faith and show our communities that our priority is loving and serving.
Children ages kindergarten and up serve with their parents, and preschoolers get to go to the church for KidServ2. The children's ministry staff finds ways for them to serve, even while they are staying at the church, and this year they were showing their appreciation to our schools' bus drivers! They put together gift bags and notes for the bus drivers, and then everything the whole morning centered around the school bus theme. Perfect for our school bus - loving Cooper! They got to get on this bus and take pictures, sing songs, and they just had a blast. The girls aren't smiling here, but they were really excited!
A family picture at the rally before everyone was sent off to their projects. Because of parking and traffic, we had the 15 minute rally at the mall parking lot instead of out at the church. It was fun!
That night, the children's ministry hosted a family movie night back at the church! The plan was to watch Frozen outside, and have everyone bring blankets and lawn chairs, but a big cold front and lots of rain came through and caused us to move the party inside. They had hot dogs, popcorn, capri suns, and pop-ice for everyone. And Frozen! The girls were pretty excited! We all had fun watching the movie and singing along!
Randy went into the girls' room the other night to check on them and found them like this - Cooper's arm tucked into Kendall's. They are so sweet and I love seeing them when they are asleep. Sometimes Kendall sleeps up top and Cooper sleeps on the bottom, but most of the time they sleep on the bottom together - along with their fifty million babies and books.
Kendall posing before school one day. She's getting so big. She has grown about an inch and a half since Christmas! 70ish days. That is crazy! And ought to hurt!
I still love matching them whenever I can. Great Granny got them these dresses back in August for the little girls' birthdays and they got to wear them a couple of weeks ago to church. This weather has been so crazy, that they will be dressed like this one day and then it will be freezing the next! We're hoping it's going to start getting warmer soon and stay that way! Almost every week at church they ask to go out back and go down to the pond. We were able to this time - but I made them pose for a picture while we were down there. I love these three girls that are all so different!
We've just been on a great Spring Break/10 year anniversary trip and I will blog about that soon!
