The Last Week of July

Along with the Beams being here the last week of July, we had a busy week before we left for family camp on August 2nd! We went to the pool with the Beams on Monday, had the staff dinner at our house that night, Aubrey spent the night, and then after she left on Tuesday we drove over to Galveston to spend time with Alden, Scott, and Stephen while they were there visiting Kevin and Jan! We went to Kevin and Jan's new neighborhood pool and had a great time visiting, swimming, and eating. The girls loved being in the pool with Baby Stephen!
Tuesday night we came back to LJ for a birthday and going away party for Kendall's friend Anna. We are sad that they are moving, but we had a great time celebrating her birthday and being together!
On Wednesday, Calli had her 6 month ENT checkup in Houston, so I decided we would make a day out of it and go to the Houston zoo! It had been SO hot, but I knew the zoo had a new splash pad area, so I thought I would plan for that, bring the girls' suits and towels, and we could go there when we got too hot. This first picture is right after we first got in the zoo - just walking from the parking lot and then putting on sunscreen made them so hot and sweaty and their little faces were so red. We walked straight to the back of the zoo and tried out the splash pad.
It was a neat area, but it just didn't keep them busy for very long. I changed them all into their suits, and then they started being done about 15 minutes later. Calli could have kept playing all afternoon, I think, but the big girls were done, so we went ahead and changed back into their clothes and started off to find more animals. We got there at 3:30 and stayed until 6:30. We had a great time!

Thursday we went to the library so the girls could turn in more of their summer reading club times before it ended on the 31st. Kendall and Cooper each read enough to earn a medal and they were both so proud of them. We love the library and summer reading club!
Friday, we took the girls to Pearland for dentist appointments for all three, and then that evening Michelle closed on her new house! She has lived in an apartment the whole time she's been in Lake Jackson, so this was her very first house to ever buy and we have been so excited for her. The girls love it and especially love the awesome bath tub she has. We did a little to help her get her stuff moved in, and then had dinner with her and her parents at Debbie and Steve's. It was a fun night!
And then it was Saturday and time to pack for Pine Cove! We looked forward to family camp all summer and it was finally time to get ready to go. We have just had the best summer - I have loved every minute of it. I am going to be sad to take the girls back to school next week and have more of a schedule of things we HAVE to do every day. We had a lot of fun adventures, a lot of great down time at home, and just enjoyed being together this summer.
