Daraja Choir!

We were so thankful to be able to host four members of the Daraja Children's Choir of Africa in our home for a weekend! The choir came to Lake Jackson to lead a worship service at Brazos Pointe, and they stayed with us for two of the nights they were here. We had two of the girls, Scovia and Mable, and two of their sponsors, Sarah and Sydney. The girls moved into our room for the weekend, giving up both of their bedrooms for the girls to stay in. We were so thankful for the opportunity to host them, get to hear their stories, and learn about their lives in Uganda. Kendall and Cooper wanted to show them their piano and dancing skills, as well. Scovia and Mable showed us their picture books of their homes and schools in Uganda. We ate several meals together. Randy was super out-numbered with four extra girls in the house!

Sunday was Servolution, so the girls came and served where we did, which was at the church for KidServ2. The kids age 4 and under were making care packages for the truckers at the port, so the kids got to learn about trucks by climbing all over an 18 wheeler!

They even all got to ride on the train for one of the stations we rotated to.

The girls sacrificed a lot by giving up their rooms and their beds for two nights, but we were so thankful to be able to do it, to meet Scovia and Mable, and to learn about their lives. We are thankful for the opportunity for Daraja to come to Brazos Pointe and look forward to it every year!
