I feel like most of what I post about these days is the fun things we have going on, so I thought I would do a post just on the girls: how they are growing, what they are doing new, and fun stories about them. :)
Kendall is 4 years and 4 months old. She is so tall. She has been asked so many times this summer if she is ready to start Kindergarten in the fall, and people are shocked when I tell them she has one more year of preschool. She's also so smart. She's great at figuring out problems, she's using some really big words lately, and she has learned to be a lot more self-controlled than she used to be. We are doing "summer school" again this summer for a few minutes after Cooper goes down for her nap and before Kendall goes down for her's. We are learning a Bible verse every week and this week it only took her 2 days to learn it! Kendall is a sweet big sister and is typically very patient with Cooper. One of the biggest qualities we've seen grow in her lately is bravery. She made a sign a few weeks ago that said "Kendall is brave" and taped it on her wall next to her bed.
(Sorry it's sideways. It says "Kendall is brave at night when I go to bed." :)
Lately we've noticed her trying more new things, not being as hesitant as she used to be, and working on things longer until she's finished or until the problem is solved. She's tried a couple of new foods, she has been brave going to her class at church, she has been brave at swimming lessons, and last week we went to a water park and she was brave trying a big slide all by herself! We love this about her and praise her for it every chance we get! She's just such a sweet, fun, funny girl and we are so proud of her.
Little Miss Cooper has grown a lot lately too! She is 21 months old and has a pretty good-sized belly! She will eat just about anything we put in front of her, which takes me by surprise still sometimes! I've had to start ordering her own chicken nugget meal at Chick-fil-A and this girl can put away some rice and beans at a mexican restaurant. For the longest time she just didn't say a whole lot, but just in the past couple of weeks we've noticed lots of new words! We've known for a long time that she totally understood everything we were saying - she just didn't want to say a lot back! Now she says things like, "Catch!" "panpakes!" and "Tint you" for thank you. She says "tint you" all the time - without prompting - so sweet! We had transitioned to only having her sass at bedtimes, but we took that away last week and she has done so well without it! She still asks for her baby, and we love to see her being a little mama to all her babies. She is the biggest copycat we have ever seen - if Kendall is doing something or saying something, Cooper is right behind her. We will not even think Cooper is paying attention, and she'll come right behind Kendall and say exactly what she just said. It cracks us up! She takes a 3 hour nap during the day and sleeps from 8:30-8:30 each night. We are loving learning more and more each day about the sweet Cooper God gave us and just love her so much!
I'm sure there is more I'm not thinking about right now, so I may come back and add to this post. I'll for sure take a picture of Kendall's sign and add it. I just love the stage we're in with both girls and don't want to forget it!
