Our new nephew was born on February 5, the day after Kendall's fifth birthday! Valerie labored all day Tuesday and then we got a call at about midnight Tuesday night that there had been complications with his delivery. When he was born he was not breathing, but the nurses quickly got him on the ventilator and then he was transported to Cook's Children's Hospital in Ft. Worth. Valerie was rushed into emergency surgery because she was losing a lot of blood. We were up all night getting updates and praying for them, and finally decided to just pack up, load the girls up, and drive to Ft. Worth at around 4:30 Wednesday morning.
Valerie's surgery was successful and she has had a great recovery. Ollie has been in the nicu at Cook's and is making good progress! All of his brain scans are coming back completely normal and he is doing great! We were hoping he would be coming home this week but it is looking like maybe next week now. He came off the oxygen for awhile but then needed to go back on because he wasn't keeping his numbers high enough on his own. We are so thankful for him and can't wait to get back to be able to hold him!
These girls were excited about their new cousin! They sang Happy Birthday and had some cookie cake for his birthday!
"Hey Ollie!! We're ready to play with you!"
