School Days!

Kendall has been having a great Spring semester at Wee Place! They just completed a big unit on dinosaurs and now they are studying outer space. She is loving all of it!

During their dinosaur unit they made hats and dressed up as dinosaurs. Love these pictures!!

 One of the things they did was they had to guess Mrs. Melissa's favorite dinosaur. For three school days, they got a new clue each day and could make a guess. The first clue was "Lived in North America." Kendall and Daddy did some research and came up with her first guess - the Stegosaurus. She went to school the next day, gave her teacher her guess - and it was right!! She was the first one to guess it correctly and her prize was an actual Stegosaurus. I cannot even tell you how thrilled she was. And how special this dinosaur is to her now. He has a special place on her dresser. :)

 She really learned a ton about dinosaurs! What they eat, theories on why they died, why they had the physical features they did. It made me excited to see how much she was remembering each day.
Now they are learning about outer space. She has learned about the sun - that it's a star, it's made up of hot gases, and the farther away from it you get, the cooler it gets. She has learned all the planets, all about the moon and about orbiting and revolving. We are so proud of her!

 She was REALLY proud of this model of the solar system they made last week. It was very important that it went up in her room. I thought it was pretty cute! And she knows all the names of the planets! Love the picture of her going to the moon.

We love Wee Place! We are so thankful for the friendships she has made, the teachers she has, the academic content she has learned and the spiritual lessons she has learned. Just a couple more months until graduation!
