Family Friday

We had a big day Friday celebrating the last day of May! We left the house at 9 and didn't get home until 8:30 - long day for this family of 5!
Kendall and Cooper had their 6 month cleaning at the dentist Friday morning in Pearland. Ethan's birthday party was that afternoon in Galveston, so we decided to make a day of it and head to the zoo for awhile in the afternoon and then go straight to Galveston from Houston. It was a long, hot day but so fun!
I'm not sure what is up with this picture of Calli and me, but I took this while the two big girls were getting their teeth cleaned. Calli has had so many doctors appointments lately that I thought it was fun she was finally not the one getting checked out!
Kendall did so well - talked with the girls at the office, did everything they asked, and had no cavities this time! Yay! She's come a long ways at the dentist. She's actually cutting four teeth now - her six year molars. Poor thing! I'm sure that hurts!
Cooper, on the other hand, didn't do so well. Randy had to hold her and she screamed the whole time. Never any tears though, and she was fine as soon as she was able to sit up. This was her second visit, and she didn't cry at all last time! Her teeth looked great too - no cavities!
We went to Toys R Us after that to get Ethan a present, then to Gringos for some Mexican food. Kendall and Cooper had fun watching tortillas being made, and then the waitress even gave them a dough ball! Mexican food is always a great choice for our family - Kendall loves chips and dip, and the two little girls can both inhale some beans and rice.
Then we headed out in the early afternoon heat of the day to the zoo!! A little crazy, but the girls had fun. There was lots of shade and we spent quite a bit of time in the indoor exhibits. We took Calli's stroller and then the wagon for the two big girls. It went great!
Posing in front of the elephants.

The sea lion show. Kendall and Cooper loved this, and it was really cool, but it was out in the blazing sun. So, so hot.
 Indoors with the American Alligator.

Kendall enjoyed the reptile house - she has been so interested in reptiles of any kind since she had her lizard pet.
This girl sweats so much! She is definitely her daddy's girl. :) look at that sweaty head!

Cooper was cracking us up. She was loving looking at the map, and kept telling us she was the map. "Follow me, guys! I'm the map!" So cute!
We stayed at the zoo for about 2.5 hours and then everyone was just done. It was hot and it was past nap time. So we loaded up in the van and headed for Galveston, and we just knew they would all pass out. Nope! Only Kendall fell asleep. We got to the party after a couple of bathroom stops, and it was at a park at a school. The girls loved playing, but it was still so hot - no shade, out in the sun. After some pizza, cupcakes and playing these three were ready to head home. It was fun to see Ethan, Ella, Aaron and Holly, and to get to celebrate his birthday with them. Here's pictures of eating cupcakes.

We got home, everyone had baths and then went straight to bed. Calli didn't fall asleep though, and was still going strong at 10:30! Not sure if she was just overstimulated from such a big day, or just over-tired from not having a nap, but it took her awhile to fall asleep. We had a fun day and enjoyed staying closer to home the next day. :)
