Swimming Lessons

This was Kendall's third summer to take swim lessons from Mrs. Carol. She is loving swimming so much and is just really good at it! Last year she ended lessons by swimming the length of the pool all by herself, head in the water, coming up for air and going back in. We were excited to see what she would learn this year.
We decided to wait another year before starting with Cooper. Three years old is really when Carol likes to start, but she said she would teach Kendall for 20 or 25 minutes and then work with Coop the last 5 or 10 minutes to get her used to finding safety and kicking. Cooper was excited!
I wasn't sure how it would go, taking all three and trying to corral Coop and Calli while Kendall had her lesson, but it went great! Carol is really great with the girls and she didn't mind at all if the little girls played on the steps while she worked with Kendall. Calli could NOT stay out of the water - we would walk in and she would immediately stick her foot up to me to have me take off her shoes! Sweet little water bug!
This is the first day. I didn't bring Calli's suit so she was just watching and (of course) eating. Cooper played on the steps.

Kendall was so brave and was a great listener for Mrs. Carol. She did "point and pull," worked on floating on her back, did the back stroke, and worked on swimming with big arms across the pool. Mrs. Carol was impressed with how she could get herself to the bottom of the pool to retrieve toys, and was proud that she didn't have any fear and would try anything. Really, she had to tell her to slow down a little because she would just go again and again so quick that she would start getting out of breath. We're so proud of our little swimmer!
Cooper learning "chocolate and vanilla." She loved practicing kicking and splashing her sisters!
Calli in the pool with Mrs. Carol! She loved it and loved her!

Check out this girl's tan! This is from her swimsuit - and it's only June! One strap stays on (on the right) and one constantly slips down, so she only has one strap tan line. Cracks us up! She really is getting so dark!

I love this picture of all three listening to Carol!
We're so thankful for a fun week of swim lessons and for such a sweet, great teacher for the girls!
