On our way home from Ft. Worth on the 28th, we surprised the girls with one last Christmas gift - a new puppy! We had been talking (debating?) about getting a new dog for awhile. The girls have been asking for a long time, especially Kendall, and Randy really wanted to get a puppy that would grow up with them and be more comfortable with them than Molly is. Molly is 11 now, she was around for 3 years before Kendall was born, and she really just doesn't want much to do with the girls. She is so cuddly and playful with Randy and me, but when the girls try to sit with her or play with her, she just runs off. We made the decision and did some research, knowing we wanted another red miniature dachshund female, and that we wanted a very young one. Our friend Jenny found us this pup and we fell in love! We picked her up on December 29th and the girls were just over the moon about her. They decided on their own to name her Aggie and we loved it! We actually had a couple other names in mind, but they came up with Aggie and we agreed. Isn't she adorable???
Watching the girls with her has just been one of the cutest things. She was 6 weeks old when we got her, and when we went to the vet a week later, she weighed only 1.8 lbs. So tiny! The girls just carry her everywhere. She has done so well being crate trained and has slept through the night every night since we got her. So thankful!
We were so curious how Molly would do with her, and so far she has been great! She will growl at her every once in awhile, but Aggie gets the picture and moves on. Aggie wants to snuggle with her and play with her so bad and every so often, Molly lets her.
This was at 6 weeks and then at 9 weeks in the pocket of my robe. So ridiculous.
We are loving our new pup, even though we have to watch where we step more because she is so little! So far, our desire for her to be a little baby for the girls to love on is working out - she loves being held and played with by them! Welcome to our crazy family, Aggie girl!
