Anniversary Weekend

This year for our anniversary weekend, we got a little creative and loved what we ended up doing! We weren't able to work out any plans for the girls, and we had the Sunday of the 6th off, so we decided to take them on a little trip somewhere we could "camp" and have a fire, roast smores, etc. We looked around a few places and then ended up deciding to go to Lake Livingston and rent a cabin and visit Brett and Joy on Sunday at First Baptist Livingston! The cabin we rented at the little KOA encampment there was so fun and cute and the girls got the biggest kick out of it. There was a place to feed the turtles, walk by the lake, a fun playground, and we took the girls' bikes and they had fun riding them around the encampment. So so great!

Saturday night, First Baptist had a Walk through Bethlehem event that they host every year. It was really cool! We walked through like a marketplace and learned about different time period goods, services, and games they would have played. People were in costume, there were live animals, and at the end was baby Jesus and Mary and Joseph.

When we got back to the camp that night, Randy made a fire and we made smores!

We just really, really enjoyed our little getaway. It was super chill and easy, very fun, and we just had a great time being together, laughing, and relaxing. I love our little family and love times we get to get away and do fun things like this.
Sunday morning we got up and packed up our awesome cabin, then went to church with Brett and Joy and lunch afterwards. After that, Joy showed us around the camp she is working at now and the girls loved riding the golf cart, playing on the zip line, jumping on the jumping pillow, and playing with their new friends Katie, Mal, and Hudson. It was fun to be with Brett and Joy, 12 years to the day after he married us! Thankful for friends we can always pick right back up with after being apart for awhile. It was a great anniversary weekend!
